Local Manufacturing is limited to 1L, 2L & PTH ML prototypes, sprint prototypes and small production runs using standard FR4 laminate.  We do not offer a mix & match service, all jobs are customer unique and the minimum is a single panel.  We do not manufacture high temperature multi-layers, blind or buried via multi-layers, flexible PCBs or offer peelable soldermask.

The Production Panels available are:

• 180 x 260mm SS/DS (Small)
• 400 x 260mm SS/DS (Standard)
• 380 x 250mm ML

The dimensions are usable area and you can go right to the edge . For single design jobs, we prefer to perform the step & repeat. We use 5mm spacing between pcbs for fully routed boards and a 2.0mm router bit.

While we prefer to receive single design pcb projects in Gerber 274-x format, we accept all Windows based Protel design files, Altium design files and Eagle design files.  You must tell us which version of the design package the job has been laid out in, especially with Altium design files.  We always use the latest Altium software and once upgraded, we cannot use the old version to open a file.  There are sometimes compatibility issues between different versions of Altium.

We DO NOT perform routine DRCs, however we do check design files for minimum hole/pad, mask clearance, legend text height & width, minimum track/space, number of holes & tools, board outline, number of copper layers, internal drill to plane clearances, layer stackups & obvious errors.

With webquotes and submitted files for quote, unless told otherwise, we always assume the following and will specify on the quote:

• Single design file only
• 1.6mm thick FR4 (130Tg)
• 1 oz ave surface copper & min 20um copper in PTHs
• 2 external signal layers & 2 plane internal layers on 4 layer multilayers
• Standard 4 layer build using 0.8mm thick internal core, 7628 Prepregs & 1oz copper all layers
• Hole/via range of 0.3mm – 6.0mm: min pad required is hole/via size + 0.4mm
• Min 0.2mm track/space
• Green satin LPI Soldermask – mask clearance of min 0.1mm all around = 0.2mm overall
• Direct Ink Jet Print White Silkscreens – min text height of 1.5mm and min line width of 0.15mm otherwise legend will bleed, be thin or washed out or simply not resolve properly
• Immersion Silver (RoHS) or HASL (tin/lead) pad finish
• PCBs supplied routed loose using 2.0mm router (tiny pcbs will be supplied in a tabbed panel for customer break-apart.)

Always check the quoted specifications and advise if anything is incorrect – if you proceed with an order, the quote becomes part of the manufacturing specifications.

The following does attract surcharges:

• 170Tg material – we only stock Kingboard 6167 in 1.6mm thick. ( 1 layer & 2 layer only)
• V-grooving & Jump scoring
• Some NPTH holes or large routed holes
• Slots &/or long holes
• Other laminate thicknesses
• 2oz+ surface copper - add 0.05mm to track width for every extra 1oz (2oz = min 0.25mm track)
• Multiple design panels
• LPI Legends – used for other colours and where text height/line width is below ink jet mins
• Other colour satin LPI Soldermask – red, blue, black, yellow and white are all held in stock
• Immersion Gold pad finish – used as a cap over Immersion Silver
