V-Groove Tips

Our NC V-Groove Jump Scorer helps us quickly produce panels for loading which can easily be broken apart at a later stage.

Typically, the width of the blade giving the v-cut is 1mm wide at the surface of the PCB.  This of course will vary as the depth of the cut is changed, should a deeper cut be required.

It is therefore very important to ensure that ALL copper features are at least 0.75mm away from the physical edge of your PCB if you intend to use V-Grooving.  If they are not, you will run the risk of damaging tracks, shredding pads and chipping soldermask, leaving a very ugly, and in most cases completely unusable PCB.

Jump scoring is an option and requires minimum 25mm run in and run out of the start and finish of the cut.
